Trip history: Saved voyage records including distance, fuel consumption, cost estimates, and dates
Fuel market data: Fuel prices you track or sync for specific ports

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and operate the SeaWise service
Calculate port-to-port distances, fuel consumption, travel times, and voyage costs
Generate AI-powered maritime route suggestions
Sync your data across devices via cloud storage
Improve and develop new features for the service

4. AI Processing Disclosure

SeaWise uses Google Gemini AI to generate maritime route waypoints and provide port coordinate lookups. When you request a route or port lookup:

Only port names and geographic coordinates are sent to the AI service
No personal information, account data, or vessel specifications are transmitted to Google
AI requests are processed via a secure serverless proxy and are not stored by Google for training purposes

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in a Supabase cloud database with the following protections:

Row-level security (RLS) ensures you can only access your own data
All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS
Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with secure password hashing
We do not store your password in plain text

6. Third-Party Services

SeaWise uses the following third-party services to operate:

Google Gemini API: AI-powered route generation and port lookups
Supabase: User authentication and cloud database
Vercel: Web application hosting and serverless API functions

We do not use any advertising networks. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data stored in SeaWise
Correct any inaccurate information in your account or vessel profiles
Delete your account and all associated data at any time
Export your trip history and vessel data

8. Guest Access

SeaWise offers guest access without account creation. Guest users can use the calculator and route planning features, but their data is stored locally in the browser only and is not synced to the cloud. No personal information is collected from guest users.
